Youth Volleyball Association (YVBA) is excited to announce, our new Fall Middle School Season starting September 11th and running through October 28th, 2017.  With schools all across the Portland area losing funding and cutting volleyball programs, we continue to work to revitalize and rebuild the programs in each area.  As each new area is added, it is the next step in a growing effort to make Junior High and Middle School volleyball a natural progression into the sport for many players.

FALL LEAGUE INFO:

YVBA Fall Middle School League is offered for players 6th through 8th grade, and has both Select (A) and Recreation (B) divisions. Teams will be formed by grade (6th grade, and  7th & 8th combined) and by school.

Practice schedules will consist of two practices a week at a school in your area (facilities permitting), and a game on the weekend at one of the locations we serve.  The Fall Season will run from September 11th and running through October 28th,  and will culminate with a Fall League Tournament.  Teams will be pre-seeded for the tournament based on their regular season record and play a double elimination format.

COST:

Fall League players can register in one of two divisions for their school, depending on skill level and desired playing intensity.

Select (A) Registration - $250:
Select teams are competitive, and practices will be focused and fast paced.  To play on a Select (A) team, players must try-out and make the team within their age group (typically 11 players per team).  If they do not make the Select (A) team, they will be placed on one of the Recreation (B) teams in thier age group.  Select teams do not guarantee equal playing time.

Recreation (B) Registration - $200:
Recreation (B) teams are focused on learning, player development, and fostering a love for the game of volleyball.  Players will be placed on teams according to their age and school, and do not require a try-out to play.  Within Recreation teams, play time will be divided evenly as much as possible with the goal of trying to develop each players skills and volleyball knowledge.
